“I did not know that I could only get the most out of life by giving myself up to it.”
I am a Senior Psychologist offering compassionate and deeply relational psychological therapy, both short- and long-term.
Clients often seek support when feeling stuck, overwhelmed, helpless, or highly self-critical. At the beginning of therapy people sometimes describe that they cannot get out of patterns of distressing behaviours, thoughts, or emotions, and that relating to both themselves and others seems difficult or painful.
Many clients find that their ways of being seriously interfere with daily life and future commitments.
I listen carefully to each client, and together we explore their stories about present, past, and possible future experiences.
Applying both knowledge and techniques from evidence-based psychological theories, I take an open minded yet focused approach to helping my clients understand themselves better to make choices that lead to appropriate acceptance, self-compassion, and change. I do not believe in a quick fix or a magical solution. I hold a realistic stance allowing lasting changes towards a more content lifestyle.

I grew up in East Germany. After a difficult time during my teenage years, I moved to Glasgow and dedicated the main part of the next two decades to studying and exploring the human mind, brain, and behaviour.
My interest is mostly driven by the question of what makes us connect to ourselves & others.
Next to psychology, I am enthusiastic about philosophy, writing, music, sports, neuroscience, Buddhism, and the quirkiness of quantum physics.
I find beauty and connections in many aspects of life. Especially music, good food, and lots of walking helps me unwind from the emotional and cognitive demands of working as a psychologist.
